Yusuf Savaş İlkokulu is situated in Darıca which is the closest town to Istanbul in Turkey. Our school is a pre-primary and primary one with 260 pupils aged between 5 and  10. We have 15 staff; 10 primary teachers, 1 counsellor, 1 English teacher , 1kindergarten teacher and 2 managers. As our town is regarded as the center of industry in Turkey, our pupils' parents are mostly workers at factories. This leads us to have pupils with econmoically disadvantaged families. Our school works hard for the integration of pupils with special needs and special skills in mainstream classes. We also follow inclusive education both in the mainstream classes and also privately with the help of coach teachers. We open drama, chess , foreign language and music courses after school in order to increase self-confidence and communication skills of our pupils. We opened a Mindware Games classroom to make our pupils learn Maths enjoying themselves. We lead Thematic Classrooms Project in cooperation with the Bothanic Garden and the Zoo of our town in our school. This way we try to increase peripheral learning of the pupils. We carry out a Social Responsibility project with Sabancı University in our school. With the help of the Zoo of our town, we also plan to open up an implementation garden to make the pupils concsious of the importance of organic nutrition. We also plan to create a small zoo and playground to carry out Teaching English and Other Subjects  in the Nature Project.Our school is leading a project with MEF university to guide the parents' of the pupils.

With the current conditions in neighbouring countries we have pupils of other nationalities. And they are increasing in number year by year. We have pupils from Syria,Iran, Bulgaria and Russia. We try to let all the pupils learn in harmony in multinational classrooms.
