TIPS ABOUT IT

Kilbowie Primary School is a non-denominational school situated in the west of Scotland. The school is located in the town of Clydebank nine miles from Glasgow; in an urban area. There are 309 pupils (157 males and 152 females) between the ages of 5 - 12.  We are a mainstream school.  We are a school with a social conscience and as such we have achieved Eco- School (for developing sustainable practice), Rights' Respecting School (Creating a learning environment which recognises the UNCRC Rights of the Child), Stonewall School (Celebrating diversity in families), International Schools Awards ( We have worked with Global Schools, E-Twinning and Comenius). We are also a Fairtarde school and support a sustainable world by working within the community and with voluntary organisations such as Traidcraft and the Co-operative.
We follow the Curriculum for Excellence which aims to develop Successful Learners, Responsible Citizens, Effective Contributors and Confident Individuals.  Our school ethos supports  pupils who are nurtured, active respected, responsible, included, safe, healthy and achieving.  We celebrate our pupils achievements by  recognising excellence at a weekly assembly and business meeting.
We teach Literacy and English, Health and Wellbeing, Maths and Numeracy, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Technologies.  In additional to the curricula subjects our pupils participate in a variety of experiences which provide them with the skills needed for life and work.
